Today, I will be starting a new series, where I will be covering some of the greatest NBA playoff series. Some of these series have signature moments, and others have started some of the greatest rivalries in the NBA.

Today, I will be covering one of the greatest NBA Finals series of all time, the 2013 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.

The Heat were looking for back-to-back titles as they faced the Hall of Fame loaded San Antonio Spurs.

Game 1 was a great start to the series, with Tony Parker scoring with 5.6 seconds left to seal the win for the Spurs. Going into Game 2, the Heat needed to get a win to even the series. The Heat responded with a thrashing of the Spurs to even the series 1-1. Now, Games 3, 4, and 5 would be back in San Antonio.

In Game 3, the Spurs thrashed the Heat themselves, taking a 2-1 advantage in the series. Game 4, however, went to the Heat as Lebron James and Dwyane Wade dominated, tying the series at 2-2. Game 5 was a very crucial game for both teams, and the Spurs were able to hang on and win 114-104. Going into games 6 and 7 in Miami, the Spurs were up 3-2.

Game 6 was an instant classic, with the Heat trailing by 10 entering the 4th, they stormed back to tie the game. But, they were down 94-89 with less than 30 seconds. But, a 3 from Lebron James and the historic 3 from Ray Allen in the corner forced the game into overtime. The Heat were able to hang on and win in OT, winning 103-100 and forcing a Game 7 in Miami.

In Game 7, the Game was back-and-forth. No teams held a huge advantage throughout the game. But, Lebron James hit a jumper with less than 30 seconds left to give the Heat a 92-88 lead. The Heat held to win their 2nd straight championship 95-88 behind Lebron James who had 37 points and 12 rebounds in Game 7.

The Heat were able to comeback from a 3-2 deficit, and they were back to repeat as champions. James was again named Finals MVP, and Ray Allen’s corner 3 will be forever remembered as one of the greatest and most clutch shots of all time.

I hope you have enjoyed the first edition of some of the best playoff series of all time, please leave a comment on what your favorite moment from this series was, and which other great playoff series you want me to do in the future.
