Isaac Okoro: Prospect Scouting: 2020 NBA Draft

Isaac Okoro, Future NBA Player

Isaac Okoro is one of the most raw prospects in the draft. He is a very athletic wing. He could turn into a guy like Pascal Siakam, a two-way wing with great athleticism. As long as Okoro works hard, he could become the next gret two-way wing in the NBA.

Strengths

Okoro is a 6-6 SF weighing 225 pounds. He is very athletic with long arms and a strong upper and lower body.

Okoro loves to get to the rim, using his athleticism and strength to finish through contact. He has a great jumping ability and thrives in the fastbreak.

Okoro also has great touch and body control, being able to finish with either hand.

Okoro is one of the more relaxed scorers in the draft. He does not force much. He is unselfish and is also a solid passer.

Okoro has the perfect build for being a good defender. He uses his long arms and quick feet to stay with guys on the perimeter. He is a good shot blocker for his position. He is a surprisingly good rebounder too.

Weaknesses

Okoro does not have much of an outside jumpshot, from either mid-range or 3. If he can improve that he will become a dual threat on offense.

He cam improve his ball-handling and his play-making ability. The better handles would help him attack the rack and he would be able to find open teammates if the defense collapses.

Where Will Okoro Go?

Okoro is slated to go anywhere in the lottery. The earliest I have seen him at is at pick 7, projected to go the Bulls. The Bulls have their starting lineup for Coby White, Zach Lavine, Otto Porter Jr, Lauri Markkanen, and Wendell Carter Jr. Okoro would likely come off the bench for the Bulls. The Bulls might start him because of his defense, something that the Bulls lack. Okoro is very raw, so he might be in the G-league for his 1st season, just to develop his jumpshot and scoring ability. The Bulls need another scorer off the bench as the don’t have many options. Okoro could develop into that scorer. Okoro would be nice for Chicago is he develops right.

Next, Okoro is slated to go right after, at pick 8, projected to go the Hornets. The Hornets also have their starting lineup with Terry Rozier, Devonte Graham, Miles Bridges, PJ Washington with center Cody Zeller or Bismack Biyombo. Okoro would be nice off the bench for the Hornets. Again, he would have to develop to really help the Hornets but the Hornets could definitely use somebody like Okoro for the future.

Last, Okoro could be going at pick 11, projected to go to the Phoenix Suns. The Suns have Ricky Rubio, Devin Booker, Kelly Oubre Jr, Dario Saric/ Frank Kaminsky and Deandre Ayton. The Suns would like some scoring off the bench. Okoro would also help defensively for the Suns. The Suns would greatly benefit if Okoro fell to them.

My Prediction

Okoro has all the talent to be good in the NBA, and he just needs to adjust the finer points of his game. His defense is valuable to any team in the NBA, and if he can become a scorer, he could become a starter on most NBA teams.

Please leave a comment on where Okoro will go in the 2020 NBA Draft, and which other upcoming NBA prospects I should break down.
