NBA Teams Expecting Guidelines June 1st

Yesterday, teams around the NBA are expecting that the NBA will be giving guidelines on June 1st that will likely bring the NBA season back.

Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner

The season just got one step closer to returning. NBA teams are expecting the NBA to release guidelines that will allow teams to recall their players who have left their markets.

Teams are also expecting a timeline from the NBA on when they will be allowed to expand the individual workouts from the in market players to include more team personnel.

The NBA is discussing plans on a step-by-step basis to return to NBA action. This includes an initial two-week recall of players into team marketplaces for a period of quarantine, a one to two weeks of individual workouts at team facilities, and a two to three week formal training camp.

Barring anything unforeseen, many NBA executives, owners, and players do believe Adam Silver will give the green light for the NBA to restart. June will likely not have games and will be a training period, but in July the NBA season might be back.

The NBA and NBPA are meeting to discuss the structure of a return, including how the league will navigate the possibility of regular-season games, play-in tournaments, playoff formats and whether the full 30 teams will be brought back to finish the season.
