2019-20 NBA Schedule-Best Matchups
The 2019-20 NBA schedule has been announced and today I will be breaking down the best matchups from the season that you need to mark your calendar for
At around 12:00 pm PT, the NBA released the entire 2019-20 regular season schedule, and today we are going to be breaking it down.
October 22: Opening Day: New Orleans Pelicans vs Toronto Raptors: This will be a good matchup between the young Pelicans and the Raptors without Kawhi Leonard.
October 22: Opening Day: LA Clippers vs LA Lakers: After a whole summer of drama for the 2 teams, we will finally get a first taste on who the better LA team is.
October 23: Opening Week: Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76ers: Again, it’s the same matchup every single year. It’s pretty evenly matched this year though, with both teams with a new look.
October 23: Opening Week: Portland Trail Blazers vs Denver Nuggets: After the Blazers won perhaps the best series in the playoffs last season in 7 games, the new rivalry for these 2 new Western Conference juggernauts is beginning. The Nuggets are the same team, while the Blazers are completely different, but still have their core players.
October 24: Opening Week: Milwaukee Bucks vs Houston Rockets: The reigning MVP in Giannis Antetokounmpo will play the 2018 MVP in James Harden and the 2017 MVP in Russell Westbrook. This will be our first taste of the new MVP duo in Houston, and we can determine if it will be good or bad.
October 24: Opening Week: LA Clippers vs Golden State Warriors: The Clippers have a tough first few games with the Lakers and now the Warriors. This will be our first look at the new look Warriors with Steph and Draymond. Also, on this day, October 24th, the last 5 MVP’s will be playing (2019-Giannis, 2018-Harden, 2017-Westbrook-2016-Curry, 2015-Curry.)
November 7: Kemba back to Charlotte: This one will be weird. The Hornets fans might boo Walker for leaving them, but they shouldn’t because he gave everything that he could to the franchise and they never game him anything, so there is no reason to boo him.
November 15: Conley back to Memphis: Conley had long been the PG for the Grizzlies from when they were a playoff team, to where they are now in a rebuilding stage. The Memphis fans will probably welcome Conley like a hero.
November 27: Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics: It will be Kyrie’s first game against his former team. This game will be in Boston, so expect lots of boos.
November 27: New Orleans Pelicans vs LA Lakers: This will be the first game that AD will be returning to the big easy. He will be destroyed by the Pelicans fans, like when Lebron first went to Cleveland when he was with the Miami Heat. It will be really bad, but the fans do have a good reason.
December 11: Kawhi goes back to Toronto: This won’t be this bad. Kawhi got them a ring, so I doubt they will boo him in Toronto, and if they do, it will be pretty pointless.
December 22: LA Clippers vs OKC Thunder: It will be the first game that Paul George will play his former team. This game will be in OKC, so there will be some boos, but that won’t matter because this should be an easy win for the Clippers.
Christmas Day: Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors: This should be an even matchup with the young Celtics going north to face the non-Kawhi Raptors.
Christmas Day: Milwaukee Bucks vs Philadelphia 76ers: This will be the better of the 2 Eastern Conference matchups, with MVP Giannis playing the 3-star 76ers in Philadelphia. This game will be high-scoring with not much defense.
Christmas Day: Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors: This matchup used to be really good and an even matchup, but now the Rockets have the upper hand with Harden and Westbrook. But, nonetheless, this matchup will be good, and you never know, the Warriors could pull the upset.
Christmas Day: LA Clippers vs LA Lakers: This will be another matchup to help us determine which team in LA is better. Hopefully both duos and most of the team is healthy and at full strength so that we get a good matchup of some of the best players in the NBA.
Christmas Day: New Orleans Pelicans vs Denver Nuggets: This matchup might be the most lopsided, or as the chance to be lopsided. The new Pelicans might not be a match for the also young, but very talented Nuggets. This could be a really good or lackluster game to finish off Christmas.
January 9: Russ back to OKC: This will be emotional for both sides, Westbrook had been with the Thunder for a decade, and he never won a ring, but the fans still adored him. I don’t expect the fans to boo Russ, but some of them might.
