Can The Hawks Handle The Pressure? Bucks Dominate Game 2 To Tie Series! 6.25.21
It’s a Friday night of NBA Playoff basketball and we have Game 2 between the Bucks and Hawks tonight.
(5) Atlanta Hawks vs (3) Milwaukee Bucks
Atlanta Hawks (1-1)
Yeah…., let’s not talk about it. The Hawks were dominated in this game. They kept turning the ball over, their paint and 3-PT defense was poor and Trae Young was suffocated. The Bucks outscored the Hawks 43-17 in the 2nd quarter, the Bucks going on a 21-0 run at one point. The lead got up to 41 in the 2nd half.
This was not a good performance at all (obviously), but on the bright side, the series is tied. They have to hope guys hit shots in Atlanta and find ways to get Trae Young space. Their defense has to be better, we’ll have to see what adjustments the Hawks make in the next few games.
Milwaukee Bucks (1-1)
Finally, this is what this series should have been and I expect to see this in every game. They smothered Trae Young and they brought other defenders onto him, forcing other guys to make shots. The Bucks finally hit their 3’s and dominated the paint. They forced turnovers which led to easy scores in transition, it was a dominant performance from the tip.
Giannis had 25-9-6, Jrue Holiday had 22 points and 7 assists, Middleton had 15-7-8, Lopez had 16, good offense from the starters. The Bucks were a +32 in the paint, +15 in fastbreak points, and they had 25 points off turnovers, 22 in the first half.
They have to continue to swarm Trae Young and be active in the passing lanes. They have to hit their 3-pointers and continue to use Giannis off-ball. I predicted this series would be 5 games and there should be no reason to believe it’ll go any longer. The Bucks should be able to do this for 3 more games, otherwise I might be a little disappointed.
