Are The Raptors and Warriors Done? KPJ Burns Bucks With Historic Performance! 4.29.21

It’s a Thursday night of NBA basketball and we have 6 games on the schedule tonight.

Dallas Mavericks vs Detroit Pistons

No Luka, No Problem

The Mavs are still injured, but they are getting better. Luka got some rest for that elbow but Richardson and Porzingis returned. Tim Hardaway took the scoring role, career-high 42 points on the night, including 17 straight in the 4th. Brunson, Porzingis, and Richardson were all in double figures. 1 game ahead of Portland, in sole possession of the 6th seed, winners of 5 out of their last 6 games, everything is looking good.

Porzingis did get hurt, of course it was a knee injury. This guy just cannot stay healthy for one moment.

Resting?

Why do you keep resting Jerami Grant?

Brooklyn Nets vs Indiana Pacers

Scary Hours

No Kyrie and no Harden, 130 points. KD was a monster, season high 42 points with 22 of those coming in the 3rd. 67% shooting and 10 assists, he’s back. 20 points and 21 rebounds for Alize Johnson off the bench and 4 others in double figures. Brooklyn seems to have their eyes set on the #1 seed as I don’t see anybody beating them.

Depleted

No Lamb, Sabonis, or Turner entering this game and you lost Malcolm Brogdon in the 2nd quarter. This team is done for the year.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Houston Rockets

Yikes

Giannis got hurt after playing just 46 seconds of this game. You hope he’s ok but that was pathetic. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday couldn’t beat the Rockets? The Rockets hit 25 3’s. Guess who’s fault is that? Mike Budenholzer’s. This guy has to go. Kevin Porter Jr. shouldn’t be dropping 50 points, 5 rebounds, and 11 assists with 9 3’s. That shouldn’t be happening.

New Big 3

Kevin Porter Jr: 50 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists, 16/26 shooting, 9/15 3-PT (KPJ is the 4th youngest player ever to score 50+ points in a game and the youngest evert to drop 50+ points and 10+ assists).
Christian Wood: 31 points and 9 rebounds, 10/21 shooting, 6/10 3-PT
Kelly Olynyk: 24 points and 13 rebounds, 9/17 shooting

New Big 3 in Houston, ladies and gentleman.

Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota T-Wolves

Curry Show

This team is so bad without Curry. 37-6-8 from Curry, the usual. 27 from Wiggins in a revenge game of sorts but that was it. This team isn’t going far like this, the loss of Klay Thompson shows. This team would be good relying on Wiggins to be a 3rd scorer, but him as a second scorer hasn’t worked. This team has a lot of work to do and I don’t see them doing anything this postseason.

Balance

26-6-6 from Ricky Rubio, who took over for a struggled D-Lo who was just 3/11 off the bench. 22-11-7 for Towns and 25 for Edwards. Edwards and Towns have been great and D-Lo in a 6th Man Role has been mostly good. Exciting future in Minnesota.

The T-Wolves now have the longest win streak in the NBA at 4.

New Orleans Pelicans vs OKC Thunder

It’s The Thunder

No more needs to be said. 51 combined for Zion and Ingram and the Pelicans try and pull a miracle to make the playoffs.

Rebuild

Still have a lot of work to do.

Toronto Raptors vs Denver Nuggets

What Happened?

This game was close and the Raptors could have won. Then the Nuggets went on a 15-0 run to start the 4th and the game was over. That was so anticlimactic as the Raptors playoff hopes are fading.

OG was inefficient, Birch was good and so was Lowry. Siakam was quiet and the bench did nothing. The Raptors shot better from 3, but they had more fouls and turnovers. I think this season is wraps for the Raps.

Balance

7 guys in double figures and a 15-0 run to start the 4th gave the Nuggets this win. 23 and 7 for MPJ who continues to be that secondary scorer that Denver needs him to be and another double-double for Jokic. 3 guys in double figures off the bench and a solid outing overall.
