Today, on June 22nd, some of the NBA’s most legendary players were born, including Pistol Pete Maravich (1947-1988) and Clyde Drexler, age 56. We are relieving some of their best accomplishments.

Not many Pistol Pete Maravich games are on YouTube, but we do know that he is the all-time leading scorer in the NCAA with the LSU Tigers. He was selected 3rd overall to the Atlanta Hawks in 1970. He was a 5x All Star, 2x All-NBA First Team, 2x All-NBA 2nd Team, NBA All Rookie First Team (1971), NBA Scoring Champion (1977), 2006 Hall of Fame Inductee.

Well Pistol Pete was a great scorer, and if he had played a few decades later, we would have truly appreciated his scoring greatness. RIP Pistol Pete.

Clyde Drexler is another NBA Legend, but he will have more games/performances because he played in the 80’s and 90’s. He are some of his best accomplishments.

Clyde Drexler was a great player, going to college at Houston, getting drafted 14th overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1983. He played for 12 years on the Blazers, reaching the Finals once in 1992, only to lose to Jordan and the Bulls. After Michael Jordan left, Hakeem Olajuwon and the Rockets won the 1994 NBA Championship. Since Drexler went to college at Houston, he left the Blazers to join his college town and team up with the Rockets. He provided veteran experience and hit big shots as he helped them win back-to-back titles in 1995. Drexler retired in 1998, and was also inducted to the 2006 NBA Hall of Fame. Drexler was a 10x All Star, All- NBA First Team (1992), and his #22 is retired by both the Blazers and Rockets. All in all, Drexler was one of the greatest SG’s in the NBA of all time.
