Brogdon Wins It For Indiana; Nuggets Stun Suns In OT! 1.22.21

We have an action packed day of NBA basketball, as we have 11 games on the schedule today.

Chicago Bulls vs Charlotte Hornets

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls offense was very good in this game, as they dominated a pretty good Hornets game. The Bulls led by 8 at halftime, as they were shooting 56% from the field. Coby White was making some great passes, and Zach Lavine was doing his usual scoring, as he had 15 points. Lauri Markkanen was torching the Hornets when they went into zone. And the 2nd half was more of the same, as the Bulls built on their lead. They never really pulled away, but they never really let the Hornets get back in it. Chicago is now 7-8 on the year.

Zach Lavine had 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists on 8/12 shooting.
Lauri Markkanen had 23 points on 10/17 shooting.
Coby White had 18 points and 8 assists on 6/15 shooting.

The Bulls offense was very good, and they really took advantage of the Hornets playing a lot of zone. Turnovers were still a problem as they had 15, but they were shooting the ball well, making 15 3’s and shooting above 50% from the field. Their bench has been very good led by Porter Jr. and Temple, as they had 46 bench points today. Markkanen has been very good since his return, and him and Zach Lavine have been a very good 1-2 punch. If the Bulls can limit their turnovers, they can be a pretty good team. Chicago takes on the LA Lakers tomorrow.

Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets defense was the problem in this game, as they just couldn’t stop the Bulls. The Hornets were running a lot of zone, and it wasn’t helping as Lauri Markkanen made 3 3-pointers in this game. Devonte Graham and Gordon Hayward were very good, as they combined for 58 points on the night, with Hayward going for 34. But Terry Rozier was quiet, and the Hornets bench didn’t produce much, and their defense, which is usually pretty good, was very bad in this game. Charlotte is now 6-9 on the year.

Gordon Hayward had 34 points and 6 rebounds on 12/20 shooting.
Devonte Graham had 24 points and 6 assists on 9/18 shooting.
PJ Washington had 16 points on 7/14 shooting.

Gordon Hayward has been that solid scoring presence for this team, as he has been living up to that $30 million dollar contract better than expected. Devonte Graham has been playing better, and PJ Washington has been good as well. But the Hornets bench wasn’t scoring, as they had just 20 points, compared to 46 points from the Bulls bench. The Hornets offense was good, but their defense, which has been one of the better defenses in the league, really struggled in this game. They couldn’t really stop anything the Bulls wanted to do, and it really hurt them. Charlotte takes on the Orlando Magic next on Sunday.

Orlando Magic vs Indiana Pacers

Orlando Magic

The Magic had their chances in this game, but they just couldn’t get things done in regulation or in OT, and they lose another game. The Magic offense finally got going in the first half, as they scored 60 points in the first half on 50% shooting. The only problem is that they allowed 62 points, as the Magic needed their defense to be better. The game remained close entering the 4th, and that’s when things got interesting. The Magic scored 5 straight points with under 2 minutes left, and they led by 2, and they had the ball with 21 seconds left. But the Magic lost the ball out of bounds, and Indiana scored to force OT, a blown opportunity. In OT, the Magic took a 5-point lead early. The Magic held their lead, leading by 3 with 44 seconds left. But a Malcolm Brogdon 3 with 2.8 seconds left gave Indiana the lead late, and Orlando couldn’t respond, as they are now 7-9 on the year.

Evan Fournier had 26 points and 9 assists on 8/14 shooting.
Nikola Vucevic had 24 points and 12 rebounds on 10/29 shooting.
Aaron Gordon had 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists on 6/10 shooting.

The Magic should have won this game, as their offense finally got going. They led by 2 with the ball with 21 seconds left. Instead of playing it safe, they threw the ball away on the in-bounds. Indiana scored, forcing OT. They led by 5 in OT, and they were up 3 with 44 seconds left. But they let Malcolm Brogdon get open, and he drilled the 3, sending the Magic home empty handed. Orlando hasn’t been able to get their offense going, and when they finally do, they don’t execute late and lost. Disappointing loss for Orlando, as they take on the Charlotte Hornets next on Sunday.

Indiana Pacers

The Pacers won this game, but it was kind of handed to them by the Magic. The Pacers battled, and they took advantage of Magic miscues. In the first half, the Pacers offense was rolling. 3 guys were in double figures, as they were shooting 52% from the field. But even with Myles Turner back, their defense wasn’t stellar. Entering the 4th, the game remained close. But things weren’t looking good for the Pacers as they trailed by two with under a minute to. They still trailed by two with 21 seconds left, and the Magic had the ball. A stop could give Indiana the ball back, and a bucket might end their hopes at a comeback. But the Pacers played great defense and forced a turnover, which led to a Domantas Sabonis layup, tying the game and forcing OT. The Pacers fell behind by 5 in OT, and they again responded. Malcolm Brogdon hit the dagger 3 with 2.8 seconds left, and that lifted the Pacers to a win, as they are now 9-6 on the year.

Malcolm Brogdon had 23 points and 6 assists on 8/18 shooting.
Myles Turner had 22 points and 9 rebounds on 9/14 shooting.
Jeremy Lamb had 22 points and 7 rebounds on 7/14 shooting off the bench.

Malcolm Brogdon continues to play at a very high level, as the duo of him and Domantas Sabonis has been lighting teams up. Myles Turner was more offense in this game, as he was stretching the floor, even with a bandage on his hand. He had 3 blocks, but he wasn’t at his full power with that hand fracture. Jeremy Lamb hasn’t missed a beat since coming back from injury, as he’s going to be that Caris Levert replacement until Levert comes back. Indiana needed this win after losing their last two, but their defense hasn’t been as great lately. Look for them to get back to being aggressive and just dominating teams going forward. Indiana takes on the Toronto Raptors next on Sunday.

Houston Rockets vs Detroit Pistons

Houston Rockets

Even without two starters, the Rockets won this game (but it’s the Pistons, so it doesn’t really count). The Rockets offense was solid in the first half, as they were shooting 41% from the field, and they led by 8. But the Rockets had a collapsed in the 3rd, allowing 34 points. They now trailed by 4 entering the 4th. The 4th was back and forth, but the Rockets hit some free throws and led by 5 with over 2 minutes to go. Things got close late, but the Rockets fouled Jerami Grant after the buzzer, and they held on to win by one, improving to 5-9 on the year.

Eric Gordon had 20 points on 6/15 shooting.
PJ Tucker had 15 points and 7 rebounds on 5/8 shooting.

The Rockets had some really balanced scoring. 7 guys were in double figures, including 3 guys off the bench. Even without Christian Wood who was their leading scorer, they found ways to score. After a bad 3rd quarter, the Rockets kept their composure, and found a way to win this game, although they would have lost if Jerami Grant had about one more second on the clock. But a good win for the Rockets, as they are now 5-9 on the year. They take on the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow.

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons should have won this game, but they didn’t have enough time. In the first half, the Pistons defense was poor, allowing the short-handed Rockets to get going. The Pistons trailed by 8, as they needed a big 2nd half. And they got a big 3rd quarter. They got things going on both ends, scoring 34 points and holding Houston to just 22, as they led by 4 entering the 4th. Things were back and forth in the 4th quarter, but the Pistons fell behind by 5 with over 2 minutes to go. They cut the lead to one, and had the ball. Jerami Grant got fouled going up for a layup. The only problem the foul occurred after the buzzer sounded, and the Pistons fell just short, as they are now 3-12 on the year.

Jerami Grant had 21 points and 8 rebounds on 4/15 shooting.
Wayne Ellington had 18 points on 6/10 3-PT.
Delon Wright had 18 points and 6 rebounds on 8/14 shooting.

The Pistons lost, and maybe this is a sign they should play their young guys more. The Pistons are headed for the lottery, so there’s no point playing Blake Griffin 30 minutes. They did play guys like Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart more off the bench, but Sekou Doumbouya still hasn’t been playing much. The Pistons should just accept the fact that they are rebuilding, and play their young guys. The Pistons are now 3-12 on the year, and they take on the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow.

Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76ers

Boston Celtics

The Celtics again stayed competitive in this game, but not having Jayson Tatum really hurt them down the stretch, and they again fell short. Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker were very good, along with another good night from Marcus Smart. But the Celtics just couldn’t control Joel Embiid down low, as he was again a problem. But again, missing an All-NBA level player is a big deal, and I’m really not going to criticize Boston too much, although I wouldn’t want to face Joel Embiid in the post-season, or Bam Adebayo for that matter. Boston is now 8-6 on the year.

Jaylen Brown had 42 points and 9 rebounds on 16/28 shooting.
Marcus Smart had 20 points and 7 assists on 7/17 shooting.
Kemba Walker had 19 points and 5 assists on 8/16 shooting.

{Insert post defense here}

Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers got their full roster back, and their offense was again very good, as they went through Joel Embiid again, and he again dominated. Seth Curry was very good in his return, as he continues to shoot lights out from 3. Ben Simmons was very good in the 4th, playing good defense and he was being aggressive, as he showed what he can do on this 76ers team. Tobias Harris missed just two shots all night long, as he had a very efficient 23 points. The 76ers bench was solid, as now they can start to get back into a rhythm with everybody back. Philly is now 11-5 on the year.

Joel Embiid had 38 points and 11 rebounds on 11/15 shooting, 14/15 FT.
Tobias Harris had 23 points and 8 rebounds on 10/12 shooting.
Ben Simmons had 15 points and 11 assists on 7/10 shooting.

The 76ers finally are back at full strength, and their whole artillery of weapons was on display today. Joel Embiid continues to make his case for MVP, as he was very good in this two-game series against Boston, completely dismantling the Celtics. Tobias Harris shot 83% from the field and had 23 points. Seth Curry continues to be on fire, and Ben Simmons got some of his mojo back. This 76ers is a very dangerous offensive team, and they have looked really good this season. Philly takes on the Detroit Pistons tomorrow.

Brooklyn Nets vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Brooklyn Nets

Yeah, let’s not talk about it. The Nets lost so much in the James Harden trade, they need to get some guys back. I doubt they can trade Kyrie or get their hands on Myles Turner, but they need defense and rebounding down low, as they have been dreadful. I know they have this really cool offense with 3 guys, but they’re not going anywhere with this defense. Steve Nash can’t do much with Deandre Jordan down low, as he just isn’t a good defender at this point in his career. Another thing, without KD, James Harden cannot had 19 points on 14 shots. He has to be more aggressive, especially with KD not playing. The Nets need some defense, and then we can talk about them being serious contenders in the East.

Kyrie Irving had 38 points and 5 assists on 14/24 shooting.
James Harden had 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 11 assists on 6/14 shooting.

{Insert defense here}

Cleveland Cavaliers

Well, the Cavs, with one of the worst offenses in the league, torched the Nets in back-to-back games, beating one of the best teams in the East. This game had a lot less drama, as Cleveland dominated the 2nd half of this game. The combo of Jarrett Allen and Andre Drummond is unfair, especially for the Nets. Drummond had 16 rebounds, 5 of those being offensive. Jarrett Allen had 19 points off the bench, as they wreaked havoc on the Nets poor interior defense. Collin Sexton turned off god-mode for this game, but getting Darius Garland back and healthy is a big thing going forward. This Cavs offense got going against the Nets, and maybe they can get things going down the line. Cleveland is now 8-7 on the year.

Collin Sexton had 25 points and 9 assists on 8/19 shooting.
Andre Drummond had 19 points and 16 rebounds on 8/13 shooting.
Jarrett Allen had 19 points and 6 rebounds on 7/9 shooting off the bench.

I like where this Cavs team is going. Collin Sexton has been having a great year, and Darius Garland, if he can stay healthy, he can be really good. Andre Drummond has been good, but Jarrett Allen is clearly the future of this team down low. The Cavs have one of the best defenses in the league, it’s just that their offense needs to get more juice. In these last two games, they’ve averaging 136 points, as maybe they can keep up their hot-shooting. Cleveland takes on the Boston Celtics next on Sunday.

Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors

Miami Heat

The Heat offense was very bad in this games, but it’s kind of justified with them missing Butler, Herro, and Bradley. The Heat didn’t score more than 25 points in a quarter, managing just 81 points in this game. Kendrick Nunn has been playing very well off the bench, one of the few positives for the Heat in this game. But the Heat just haven’t been able to stay healthy, and they are now 6-8 on the year.

Fun Fact: Kendrick Nunn had 22 points in this game. That was 27% of Miami’s total offense in this game.

Toronto Raptors

After a bad loss to the Heat last time out, the Raptors avenged that with a dominant win in this game, even without Kyle Lowry. The Raptors offense was just miles better than the Heat offense, as they had balanced scoring. Norman Powell was very good, as he was starting in place of Lowry. Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby were excellent as well, as Toronto continues to climb back in the standings, as they are now 6-9 on the year.

Norman Powell had 23 points on 10/18 shooting.
OG Anunoby had 21 points on 8/12 shooting, 5/6 3-PT.
Pascal Siakam had 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists on 6/12 shooting.

The Raptors have been playing a lot better, and this was an impressive win without Kyle Lowry, and without much of a bench. Pascal Siakam did a little bit of everything, finishing with a double-double. OG Anunoby and Normal Powell shot the ball very well, as Toronto has recovered well from that 1-6 start. Their defense was very good in this game, as they need it to continue to be good, like it has been in seasons past. Toronto takes on the Indiana Pacers next on Sunday.

Atlanta Hawks vs Minnesota Timberwolves

Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks offense got back to it’s roots, as they dismantled a very poor Minnesota team. Trae Young was excellent in this game, as he set the tempo for this offense. He needs to continue to be aggressive, and this Hawks team can be dangerous when he gets going. Clint Capela was a monster on both ends, finishing with a triple-double. Danilo Gallinari played 15 minutes off the bench, as he hasn’t played at all this season due to injury. Atlanta hopes to incorporate their new free agent signing back into the mix. Atlanta has been playing much better as of late, as they’ve won their last 3 games, improving to 8-7 on the year.

Trae Young had 43 points and 5 assists on 14/22 shooting, 8/12 3-PT.
Cam Reddish had 15 points and 5 rebounds on 3/10 shooting off the bench.
Clint Capela had 13 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 blocks on 5/11 shooting.

Trae Young was amazing in this game, as he seems to have found his mojo. He made 8 3’s, and was incredibly efficient, something that he’s not exactly known for. They need this aggressive Trae Young going forward. Clint Capela was a monster on the boards, with 19 rebounds, and 10 blocks, having a Hakeem Olajuwon type night. Danilo Gallinari will have to work himself back into the offense, but he could be instant offense off the bench for Atlanta. I like what the Hawks are when they have things going, and right now they have things going. Atlanta takes on the Milwaukee Bucks next on Sunday.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Get well soon Karl Anthony Towns.

Dallas Mavericks vs San Antonio Spurs

Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks have been figuring out how to win, even without 4 of their best players, and it all starts with Luka Doncic. Doncic had 19 points in the first quarter, en route to another near triple-double, as he was doing everything for this team. Kristaps Porzingis has been playing so well as of late, as he’s been taking smarter shots, and less 3’s. Tim Hardaway and Jalen Brunson were excellent, with Jalen Brunson hitting the dagger 3 with 18.9 seconds left to seal the win for the Mavs, as they improve to 8-7 on the year.

Luka Doncic had 36 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists on 13/28 shooting.
Kristaps Porzingis had 21 points and 8 rebounds on 7/14 shooting.
Tim Hardaway Jr. had 21 points on 8/12 shooting.

The Mavs have been able to win games, even without so many key players. Luka Doncic was excellent in the first quarter of this game, and while he slowed down on offense, he just does so much for this offense. Kristaps Porzingis has been playing so well, taking so many good and smart shots, and the same goes for Tim Hardaway Jr, who has been stepping up with so many guys out. I like Jalen Brunson a lot, and he has been playing really well alongside Luka Doncic. If the Mavs get healthy, they will be even better, but they’ve been solid even though they are short-handed. The Mavs take on the Houston Rockets tomorrow.

San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs defense, especially their defense against Luka Doncic, was poor in this game. They let Doncic get going early, and then they just couldn’t overcome the deficit late. They allowed Dallas to shoot 48% from the field and 36% from 3, and they never held Dallas below 25 points in a quarter. The Spurs offense got back on track after a terrible shooting night against Golden State, as they shot 46% from the field and 42% from 3. DeRozan, Aldridge, and Keldon Johnson were excellent, as they combined for 72 points. Dejounte Murray hurt his ankle, and played just one minute in the game. The Spurs bench was good, but their defense really failed them in this game, as they are now 8-8 on the year.

DeMar DeRozan had 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists on 8/20 shooting, 13/16 FT.
LaMarcus Aldridge had 26 points and 9 rebounds on 11/18 shooting.
Keldon Johnson had 17 points and 14 rebounds on 7/14 shooting.

The Spurs really never stopped Doncic. They never got the ball out of his hands, and he continually made plays, including the dagger 3 to Brunson, which Luka assisted. The Spurs offense was really good, with 5 guys scoring over 12 points in this game. But Dejounte Murray left with an ankle injury early, no word on how serious the injury is yet. The Spurs offense has been getting more consistent, however defense is still a problem. San Antonio takes on the Wizards next on Sunday.

New York Knicks vs Sacramento Kings

New York Knicks

The Knicks had a major collapse in the 2nd half of this game. They played well in the first half, but their offense was horrible in the 2nd half. In the first half, it was the Knicks type of game. New York shot 40% from the field, but they did an excellent job containing the fast paced Knicks, and the game was close. But the Knicks scored just 40 points in the 2nd half, and they were outscored by 14 in the 2nd half, as the Knicks lose another game because of their lackluster offense. New York falls to 8-9 on the year.

Julius Randle had 26 points and 15 rebounds on 8/17 shooting.
RJ Barrett had 21 points and 7 rebounds on 8/17 shooting.

Barrett and Randle continue to be the Knicks only source of consistent offense, as they didn’t get much help in today’s game. Alec Burks went 3/14 from the field off the bench in this game, as he tries to work himself back into the flow after missing a lot of time with an ankle injury. I still don’t know what Obi Toppin does on this team, as he doesn’t play much. Meanwhile the Kings have Tyrese Haliburton, who has arguably been the best rookie this season. The Knicks might have wanted Haliburton, just saying. The Knicks offense has to be better for them to win, and they won’t be able to win a lot of games with the way they’ve been winning, when both teams struggle to score. New York takes on the Portland Trail Blazers next on Sunday.

Sacramento Kings

This was an impressive win for the Kings, as they dominated the 2nd half of this game, their defense finally doing them a favor. In the first half, the game was close, mainly because the Kings defense was allowing a bottom-5 offense get good shots. But in the 2nd half, the Kings defense was a lot better, allowing just 40 points. Their offense got going behind a really balanced scoring attack, and the Kings snapped a 4-game losing streak. The Kings are now 6-10 on the year.

De’Aaron Fox had 22 points and 7 assists on 7/20 shooting.
Harrison Barnes had 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists on 5/13 shooting.
Tyrese Haliburton had 16 points and 5 rebounds with 4 blocks on 7/13 shooting off the bench.

The Kings defense finally showed themselves, as they locked down the Knicks in the 2nd half. The Kings offense was solid as usual, behind 6 double-digit scorers. Fox and Barnes were very good, and Tyrese Haliburton continues to show that he’s been the steal of the draft thus far. The Kings can be good if their defense plays this well, but it would take a lot of evidence for me to believe that the Kings have a good defense. The Kings don’t play until the 27th, against the Orlando Magic.

OKC Thunder vs LA Clippers

OKC Thunder

Yeah, this was kind of expected for the Thunder. Not much to say, as LA is one of the best teams in the league, and the best shooting offense. SGA and Lu Dort were excellent, as they combined for 49 points. The Thunder are still young and rebuilding, and they won’t win many games against the contending teams. OKC is now 6-8 on the year, and they take on the LA Clippers again on Sunday.

LA Clippers

LA did what they were supposed to do, dominate. They didn’t underestimate this OKC team, no matter who’s on the roster, something they tended to do last season. PG and Kawhi have been the best duo in the league thus far, as they have been killing teams with their efficient shooting and passing. Batum and Ibaka were solid as well, making up for a lackluster LA bench. The Clippers continue to shoot very well from the field, as they have been rolling, winning their last 6 games, improving to 12-4 on the year.

Kawhi had 31 points and 8 rebounds on 10/21 shooting.
PG had 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists on 10/19 shooting.
Serge Ibaka had 17 points and 11 rebounds on 7/8 shooting.

This Clippers team has been focused and locked in. Kawhi and PG have been the best duo in the league, and they have been dominant, leading this Clippers team to a fast start. Nicolas Batum has been a great addition, and Serge Ibaka anchors things down low. The LA bench wasn’t great, as Morris and Williams had off nights, which doesn’t happen often. There is something different about this Clippers team, and they are going to be a tough team to stop going down the stretch. LA takes on OKC again on Sunday.

Denver Nuggets vs Phoenix Suns

Denver Nuggets

This was one heck of a win for Denver, saying how this game started, and it started bad. In the first half, Denver’s offense was pretty good. They shot 48% from the field, and scored 54 points. The only problem was they couldn’t stop the Suns Big 3, as they allowed the Suns to score 68 points on 58% shooting. Chris Paul had 14 assists in the first half, Mikal Bridges was 5/5 from 3, Booker had 19 points. Things were not going well, but that all changed in the 2nd half. The Nuggets defense got better, and the Nuggets 2nd unit got them back into the game. Denver outscored the Suns by 10, and the lead was just 4 entering the 4th. In the 4th, these two teams went back and forth, with Denver tying the game with 1:07 left. The Nuggets forced a turnover, but then missed a 3. The Nuggets got another stop, and they went to Jamal Murray for the win. But he came up short, and thankfully Phoenix didn’t call timeout, as the game went into OT. In the OT, Denver took a lead, but the Suns came roaring back, taking a one-point lead with 1:54 left after a mad scramble. But in that mad scramble, Devin Booker got hurt and was forced to miss the game. The Nuggets scored 4 straight points, including a Jamal Murray dagger with 29 seconds left, as the Nuggets staged a great come from behind win, improving to 8-7 on the year.

Nikola Jokic had 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists on 15/27 shooting.
Gary Harris had 19 points on 8/12 shooting.
Jamal Murray had 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists on 8/19 shooting.

This was such a good win for Denver, after they were getting dominated by the Suns in the first half. Their defense was much better in the 2nd half, and they got some real good contributions in this game. Monte Morris had 17 points off the bench, Will Barton had 17, Gary Harris had 19. Jamal Murray struggled shooting, but played a much better 2nd half as he was much more aggressive. Still not great, but better. Nikola Jokic did Nikola Jokic things, as he was a force down low, battling with Deandre Ayton. The Nuggets defense finally came through when they needed it to, and they picked up a signature win on the road. Denver faces off with the Suns again tomorrow.

Phoenix Suns

And on the other end of the spectrum, the Suns had a very bad collapse in the 2nd half, filled with missed opportunities. And it’s a shame that they lost considering how they were playing in the first half. Phoenix shot 58% from the field and 44% from. Devin Booker had 19 points, Chris Paul had 14 assists, Deandre Ayton was a menace down low, Mikal Bridges was 5/5 from 3. Everything was going the Suns way. But then in the 2nd half, the Suns started to slow down a lot. They started to turn the ball over more, and their lead was just 4 entering the 4th. In the 4th, things were going back and forth, neither team giving each other an edge. The Suns led by 4, but Denver came back to tie it. With about 20 seconds left, Denver had the ball, holding for the last shot. They missed, and Chris Paul rebounded it with about 2 seconds left. The Suns had a timeout, and they could have used it, a chance to advance the ball and try to win. But instead they didn’t call a timeout, and Chris Paul just chucked it. And we headed to OT. In OT, the Suns fell behind by 4, but they tied it up with 1:54 left after a mad scramble. But Devin Booker hurt his leg, and missed the rest of the game. The Suns didn’t the score for the rest of the way, and a Cameron Payne turnover with 16 seconds left sealed the game, as Phoenix falls to 8-6 on the year.

Devin Booker had 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists on 11/21 shooting.
Deandre Ayton had 27 points and 13 rebounds on 11/13 shooting.
Mikal Bridges had 24 points and 10 rebounds on 8/15 shooting.

Such a disappointing way to lose for the Suns, with the way they were playing. Obviously losing Devin Booker late in OT doesn’t help, but they kind of look lost down the stretch. Chris Paul didn’t do much scoring in this game, and most of his assists were in the first half. Bridges cooled down a lot, and Deandre Ayton was excellent, he was aggressive and got himself involved. But these are the games you have to win, with big leads at halftime. You have to get stops when you need to, and scores when you need to. And the Suns didn’t accomplish that. No word on how serious Devin Booker’s injury was, and don’t know his availability for tomorrow, as Phoenix again played Denver.
