Bucks Win Game Of The Year To Advance To ECF! 6.19.21

It’s a Saturday night of NBA basketball and we have Game 7 between the Nets and Bucks.

(3) Milwaukee Bucks vs (2) Brooklyn Nets

Milwaukee Bucks (4-3)

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, what a game. The Bucks deserved to win. They fought through adversity after trailing early. Middleton and Holiday had struggled for most of the game but both of them hit big shots late and Giannis was their steady hand throughout the game as they barely scraped by Brooklyn and they advance to the Conference Finals.

My blood pressure is still high, this game was crazy. The Bucks had this game in the bag and then KD hit one of the most ridiculous shots ever and we went to OT. The Bucks looked kind of stunned as they didn’t score for the first 3 minutes or so of OT. Then Giannis and Middleton scored and that was enough as they held the Nets to just two points in OT.

Giannis had 40 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists. He was great throughout this game, fighting off the demons from the past two years.

Khris Middleton was 2/11 from the field in the first half. He was 7/15 in the 2nd half and hit the dagger in OT, scoring 23 points for the game along with 10 rebounds, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals.

Jrue Holiday was also 2/11 from the floor in the first half and while he wasn’t great, he hit 3 big shots in the 4th. PJ Tucker had 11 points and Lopez had 19, finally hitting shots.

The Bucks couldn’t stop KD, Griffin, or Bruce Brown. Other than that, Harden didn’t make many shots in this game and Harris was again struggling. Pat Connaughton was the only bench player to do anything scoring wise, as he had 9 points off the bench.

This is such an important win for the Bucks. How the last two years ended and now they beat the perhaps the favorite to win the title. They now advance to the conference finals against either Atlanta or Philly, a chance to go to the Finals just 4 wins away. Lets see if they can keep advancing after this monumental series win.

Brooklyn Nets (3-4)

I hate injuries so much. This series was close without Kyrie from Game 5 on and James Harden wasn’t the same even though he returned in Game 5. KD was pushed to the limit, playing every single minute in a Game 5 win and playing all 53 minutes in this game. The Nets Big 3 only played 20 games together, including the playoffs.

But as you watched him take that last fadeaway 3, you could see the fatigue as the Nets are knocked out. Injuries derailed them. The fact that this game was in OT of Game 7 is amazing and shows how good they are. They were a couple of Harris/Harden shots away from winning this game.

I don’t see any reason to look for change, just a bad hand of cards were dealt your way. You hope for the best health wise next season and run it back. It’s unfortunate that it took injuries for somebody to beat them, but that’s basketball for you. This team is far from done and I see them as title contenders next year as well.

Jeff Green and Blake Griffin are free agents, although I find it hard to see them leaving. They’ll probably be signed to cheap deals over the summer, it’s hard to imagine them leaving. Bruce Brown is a RFA this summer and they might not be able to bring him back with how much teams will probably want him.

But like I said, I don’t see any weakness in this team when healthy. Hopefully with this offseason, the Nets Big 3 can rest up and get healthy for next season and try and win a title. Scary Hours has been delayed one year.
