Today, the NBA announced that both the NBA Draft Combine and the Draft Lottery would be postponed to a later date. Talks also resumed about a possible delayed 20-21 season.

Today, the NBA announced that they would be suspending the draft lottery and the draft combine. Both events were set to be in May. The NBA is still holding back on postponing the NBA Draft, which is in June.

With both of these events being postponed, and with the draft likely to be postponed as well, the NBA will have to find some alternatives for this season and the next.

And they did just that as Commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA Board of Directors discussed delayed the start of the 2020-21 season until December. This would mean that the season would run until August, or somewhere in the late summer. But, one board member said that the 20-21 season might return in December, but the fans might not be there until March, meaning no fans for a portion of the season.

This means that NBA fans won’t have basketball for another 7 months, or even longer depending on if fans are allowed or not. But, with the likelihood of the NBA season not happening, people are now looking into the future to try and figure out solutions.

So, unfortunately, it looks like that we won’t be seeing the NBA for a very long time. If this delayed 20-21 season gets approved, which it probably will, we won’t have basketball for 7 months, as of right now. But, it is almost certain that the 2019-20 season will be over, and that the 20-21 season will be filled with questions going forward.

Please leave a comment if you agree with the NBA trying to delay the 20-21 season until December, and who do you think will be named a “champion” this season?
