Embiid Exits Early, Wizards Take Game 4!; Jazz Finish Strong To Take 3-1 Lead! 5.31.21
It’s NBA Playoff Basketball on Memorial Day as we have 2 more games on the schedule tonight.
(1) Philadelphia 76ers vs (8) Washington Wizards
Philadelphia (3-1)
God, why can’t Embiid stay healthy. Hurt his knee in the first quarter, didn’t return. He did first injure his knee in Washington and that caused him to miss a lot of games and now he’s hurt again. I doubt it’s anything too serious and the 76ers should win in 5, but they need Embiid healthy to lose to the Nets. If not, they might lose to the Hawks.
Washington Wizards (1-3)
The Wizards won, a fan ran on the court, yeah this game was weird. Not that this game does anything for Washington. If Embiid plays in Game 5, it’s over. Enjoy the win Washington, 76ers in 5.
(1) Utah Jazz vs (8) Memphis Grizzlies
Utah Jazz (3-1)
The Jazz offense has been unstoppable with Mitchell in this series. The shooting has been very good as they just outscore Memphis. The defense isn’t great but hey, who cares?
The Jazz hit 17 3’s, shooting 49% from 3. They shot 46% from the field. Who needs two’s anyway? Utah was also 25/28 from the line. Mitchell had 30, 12/13 from the line. Gobert had 17, 24 for Clarkson off the bench, the usual scorers.
The Jazz shot 19% from the field (3/16) in the 4th and they still won. Two of those field goals came from Mike Conley, both 3’s. The Jazz offense has looked lethal in this series. The defense hasn’t been great as Memphis scored 64 points down low, shooting 22/26 in the paint. But 3>2 and the Jazz have just been on fire from 3. They look to take care of this series with a Game 5 win back home.
Memphis Grizzlies (1-3)
A for effort, but allowing 17 3’s and Utah to make 25 free throws is a death sentence. The Grizzlies need more shooting and better closeouts. The Grizzlies continue to fight and make these games actual games, but they are overmatched at the end of the day. But the future is bright, don’t get that wrong.
