On August 17th, 1933, Kenny Sears was born in Watsonville, California. He went on to be a 2x NBA All Star and a solid player in the NBA.

Sears went to Santa Clara for 4 years (1951-1955). He was selected with the 4th overall pick in the 1955 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. For 6 straight seasons with the Knicks he averaged more than 11.0 points per game, averaging more than 20 in one season. He played in the short lived American Basketball League in 1961-62 without much success. He then went back to the Knicks in 1962. He played his final 3 seasons in the NBA with the San Francisco Warriors. He retired in 1964. Sears unfortunately passed away at the age of 83 on April 23rd, 2017 in Watsonville, California. In 1958-59, Sears averaged 21.0 points and 9.3 rebounds for the Knicks. Overall, Sears was a 2x All Star, All ABL 2nd Team (1962), 3rd Team All-American- UPI, NEA (1955), 2x WCC Player of the Year.

Sears was a very solid player during the 50’s and 60’s, and although he never won a championship, he would have been a perfect role player for a championship team.
