Lakers And Bucks Find Their Footing!

After Day 4 of the NBA Playoffs finished, I’m giving my thoughts and opinions on some specifics. Today I will be talking about the Milwaukee Bucks and the LA Lakers.

LA Lakers

The Lakers lost Game 1 in shocking fashion as they looked flat. In Game 2 they came back much better. Their defense got much tighter as they didn’t allow Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum to run around freely. The Lakers also didn’t allow much inside scoring and their defense looked impenetrable at times.

And of the offensive end, the Lakers got the same looks, they just made them. KCP had 16 points and they hit more 3’s. And when the Lakers start hitting 3-pointers, they become very difficult to guard. Anthony Davis was efficient as didn’t settle as much as he did in Game 1. Lebron James orchestrated everything and seemed in much more control of the game.

I think that the Lakers will have to prove to everybody that they can keep this level of play up all the time. Because they have not shown us that their offense can be this good all the time. But their defense will have to be a constant otherwise they will have performances like Game 1. But I think that if the Lakers start to lock-in, and they start to get on a roll, not many teams in the NBA can stop them.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks also lost Game 1 to a much worse Orlando Magic team. The Bucks couldn’t guard anybody and on offense, it was Giannis and nobody else. But in Game 2, the Bucks came out with a purpose as they stomped on the Magic all night long. The biggest change came on the defensive end as the Bucks tightened down that side of the ball, and with that excellent defense, came easy offensive looks.

I think that the Bucks are similar to the Lakers because they are not fully locked-in yet, but if they can, we know what they are capable of. The Bucks will need that same defensive intensity throughout the playoffs, and the supporting cast behind Giannis will need to play better. Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe and the rest of the bench will have their moments in these playoffs, and they will need to be ready in order for the Bucks to succeed.
