NBA Finals Game 2

Pre Game: It’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals from Toronto as the defending champs look to even the series at 1-1 on the road.

** Demarcus Cousins will start for the Warriors today

Game 1: It’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals, as the #1 Golden State Warriors look to even the series 1-1 against the #2 Toronto Raptors. Pascal Siakam and Kawhi Leonard led the attack as the Raptors smothered Stephen Curry and company. Curry was on his own, scoring 34 points, but only 3 Warriors scored in double digits. The Warriors will again be without Kevin Durant, meaning that Curry and Thompson will have to carry the load offensively. The Raptors won even with Kawhi Leonard not having the best game. The Raptors look to run in transition and get easy looks and smother the Warriors with their defense. At the end of the 1st quarter, the Raptors led by 1, 27-26. Kawhi Leonard had 9, Klay Thompson had 11 for the Warriors. At halftime, the Raptors led by 5, 59-54. Leonard and VanVleet combined for 28 points. Curry and Thompson combined for 34 points in the first half. The Raptors fell apart in the 3rd, getting outscored 34-21 in the 3rd. The Warriors led by 8, 88-80 entering the 4th. Curry and Thompson combined for 48, Leonard and VanVleet combined for 43. The Raptors are going to need a run if they want to get back into the game. Though the Raptors cut the lead to 2, 106-104, Andre Igoudala hit a 3 with 5.9 seconds left, extending the lead to 109-104. The Warriors managed to hang on and win 109-104. Cousins, Green, Curry and Thompson combined for 76, Leonard had 34. VanVleet, Gasol, and Siakam all had sub-par games compared to Game 1. Cousins and Cook had great games for the Warriors. The collapse in the 3rd for the Raptors proved to be the death of them as they never regained the lead. Klay Thompson suffered hamstring tightness in the 4th and sat out the last half of the 4th. His condition is unknown for Game 3. Also, Kevon Looney suffered a separated collar bone and sat out the entire 2nd half. His condition is also unknown for Game 3.
