NBA Finals Game 5

Pre Game: It’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals as the Raptors look to close out the Warriors and their first ever ring.

Game 1: It’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals as the #2 Toronto Raptors are one game away from the promise land, winning a NBA ring over the #1 Golden State Warriors, who need a win tonight to keep their season alive. The Raptors won both games in hostile Oracle arena, being able to take a 3-1 series lead. Now in Game 5 back in Toronto, they have a chance to win a ring in Toronto in front of their die-hard fans. Kevin Durant will play for the Warriors and maybe he might be the turning point for the series. I don’t think this will be the case. I think it will be a close game that the Raptors lose, but then they will make the right adjustments and then go on the road and in Game 6 they would win and destroy the Warriors dynasty and 3-peat. The Warriors came out gunning, leading 34-28 at the end of the 1st. KD had 11 in his first minutes since injury, Curry had 14 for the Warriors. Marc Gasol had 10, Kawhi Leonard had 6. Kevin Durant appeared to re-injure his right calf as he went down in pain. They helped him off the court, and he went straight to the locker room. Though the Warriors once led by double-digits, their lead was only 6, 62-56 at the half. Stephen Curry had 23 points, Marc Gasol and Leonard combined for 28. The Raptors need to slow down Curry, Cousins and Thompson for the Warriors. Need to make more open shots if they want to take the lead. At the end of the 3rd, the Raptors still trailed y 6, 84-78. Curry and Thompson combined for 46, Marc Gasol had 17. The Raptors were up for the majority of the last 5 minutes, but then Klay Thompson hit a 3 with 56 seconds left to give the Warriors a 106-103 lead. With 15.7 seconds left, the Raptors had a chance to win the game, but they could not convert and managed to hang on and win 106-105. Curry had 31, Leonard had 26. The Warriors were down 6 with 2:30 left, the Warriors put that championship mindset to use and they ended up pulling out the victory. They now manage to shorten the deficit to 3-2, as they go back to Oracle for Game 6. The Raptors are 2-0 in Oracle and the Warriors will most likely be without KD, so they hope that they can play well and not have a repeat of Games 3 & 4.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post of Game 5 of the NBA Finals, and please comment below if you think the Raptors will win in 6 or will the Warriors force Game 7. Please enjoy the rest of the NBA Finals!
