NBA Free Agency Rumors and Moves

Even before the NBA Draft, some teams and trades have already been happening.

Trade Offer: Knicks get: Picks 8 and 10, Hawks get Pick 3. The Hawks offered both their top 10 picks, 8 & 10 for Pick 3 from the Knicks. The Knicks obviously denied this because they have a chance to get RJ Barrett, and RJ or some of the other top prospects would fall to 8 & 10.

Al Horford Declines Extension: Horford had the chance to sign a 30.1 million dollar extension, but instead declined it, making him an unrestricted free agent this summer. Horford said he look for a multi-year deal with a team. If the Celtics don’t manage to secure Horford, or Kyrie Irving, then the team will be looking really different.

Harrison Barnes: Harrison Barnes is declining his 25.1 million dollar player option, now becoming an unrestricted free agent. Barnes’s agent said he is looking for a long-term deal. To be honest, Harrison Barnes is asking for too much money for his production. He averaged 16.4 point last year with the Mavericks and the Kings. He should not be asking for 20+ million, maybe 10-15 million would be a better offer, and more teams could afford that.

Rumor: A Rumor started from NBA.com stated that Chris Paul wanted out of Houston. Chris had one of the worst years of his career, down in scoring and assists and dealt with injuries throughout the year. Harden had to carry the team offensively. Chris Paul is obviously in the decline of his career, only have 2-3 years before he retires and he is not worth his big, $35.6 million dollar contract. So, the Rockets would not be in the wrong to agree with Paul and either trade him or let him go to free agency in 2022. Chris may retire by them, or if he is still on the Rockets, could go to another team for his last few years in the league.

So, this covers all the news from the day from the NBA and Free Agency. Please tune in the next few days for the NBA Draft and as Free Agency heats up, you won’t want to miss a moment.
