Brain Shaw to Coach Elite G-League Team Headlined by 5-Star Recruit Jalen Green

Brian Shaw is reportedly agreeing to coach the NBA G League Select Team, according to Shams Charania.

Shaw was a candidate because of his many years of experience. He was a player with the Lakers during the Showtime era. He was an assistant coach with the Lakers for two seasons, and a head coach with the Nuggets for 2 years as well. His last job was associate head coach with the Lakers from 2016-19.

Shaw will be in charge helping players develop at the professional level. 5-Star recruits like Jalen Green, Isiah Todd, and Daishen Nix have all chosen the G-League path instead of college because they get paid when they are in the G-League.

The G-League path for college athletes seems to becoming the new wave, and may replace the NCAA as the place where premier college athletes go to play.
