Playoffs Day 16
Pre Game: Today we have 2 games, #1 Milwaukee vs #4 Boston and #1 Golden State vs #4 Houston. Both of these game will be good, and the series will be very close. I will also be giving my predictions for each series.
#1 Milwaukee vs #4 Boston: 4-3 Boston
#2 Toronto vs #3 Philadelphia: 4-2 Toronto
#1 Golden State vs #4 Houston: 4-3 Houston
#2 Denver vs #3 Portland: 4-2 Portland
Game 1: In the 1st game of the night, #1 Milwaukee plays #4 Boston. Both of these teams played great in their first round series, sweeping their opponents. For Boston, they need to pick up their scoring from what it was in the 1st round, and Milwaukee needs to tighten up on defense against this very talented Boston team. I think Boston has the upper-hand here because they have more experience, and because they have more scorers: Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Morris and Terry Rozier, whereas Milwaukee only has: Giannis, Bledsoe, Lopez and Mirotic. Malcolm Brogdon, who has been out since March with a foot injury. He will probably miss Games 1 & 2, but he has the chance to play in the rest of the series. This series will be a really close and great series. At the end of the 1st, the Celtics were up 26-17. Kyrie had 8, George Hill had 7 for the Bucks. The Celtics held Giannis to 1 point, 0/3 from the field. If they continue to contain Giannis, then Boston will be in good shape. With 6:25 left in the 2nd, the Celtics led by 15, 40-25. The Bucks stormed back on a 15-0 run to tie the game at 40. At halftime, the Celtics managed to hold a 2 point lead, 52-50. Kyrie had 13 points, Khris Middleton had 14 points for the Bucks. The Celtics dominated the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Bucks 36-21, leading 88-71. Kyrie had 19 points, Khris Middleton had 16 points. The Bucks need to get Giannis involved and go on another run like in the 2nd quarter. The Celtics cruised to a 112-90 victory. Kyrie had 26 points, Al Horford had 20 points, Giannis had 22 points, Khris Middleton had 16 points. The Celtics dominated for the whole game, and the Bucks need to involve Giannis more and play better defense. The Celtics now take a 1-0 series lead in the series going into Game 2.
Game 2: In the 2nd game of the night, #1 Golden State battles with #4 Houston. The Warriors struggled with the pesky Clippers, winning the series in 6, and the Rockets dispatched of the Jazz in 5 games. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both rolled their ankles in Game 6 against the Clippers and are questionable for Game 1. The Rockets need Harden to have a big series, and if the Warriors cannot contain him, it’s going to be a tough series. The Rockets dominated the Warriors in the regular season, winning the series 3-1 and look to do the same in the playoffs. Stephen Curry was activated for Game 1, and Steve Kerr said that Klay would warm up and decide from there. He will be a literal game-time decision. Curry and Thompson will both start for the Warriors. The game was close throughout, but the Warriors prevailed 104-100. The Rockets had a chance to tie the game with a 3 at the end, but missed and the ball got deflected by the Rockets, and the Warriors got the ball. Chris Paul did not like the call and got into the referees face, got a technical and got ejected. I think Paul could get fined or suspended before Game 2. KD had 35 points, Stephen Curry had 18 points, James Harden also had 35 points, 27 for Eric Gordon. The Warriors now take a 1-0 series lead, but the Warriors dodged a bullet and if the Rockets clean things up, then they could win Game 2.
