Playoffs Day 36
Pre Game: It’s the 36th day of NBA Playoff action as we have Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between #1 Golden State and #3 Portland.
Game 1: It’s the one and only game on the schedule tonight, and it’s Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between #1 Golden State and #3 Portland. Golden State won Game 3 after trailing by double digit lead again and took a 3-0 series lead. The Warriors will be without Andre Iguodala because of a calf injury sustained in Game 3. The Warriors look to sweep the Blazers and move on to their 5th straight NBA Finals and the Blazers look to live another day. The 1st half was filled with offense, the Blazers led by 4, 69-65. Lillard, McCollum and Leonard combined for 50 points, Curry and Thompson combined for 37 points. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Blazers were up 95-87. 72 points combined for CJ, Dame and Leonard. Stephen Curry had 30 points entering the 4th. The game was tied 111-111 at the end of the 4th, the game going to overtime. With 39.6 seconds left, the Warriors led by 4, 119-115. Lillard scored and now the lead was 2, 119-117. Stephen Curry missed a layup, and Lillard went up and the ball went out of bounds, and the Blazers got the ball. With 3.3 seconds left, the Blazers need a 2 to tie and a 3 to take the lead. The Blazers missed a 3, and the Warriors won in overtime, 119-117. Curry had 37, Myers Leonard had 30. A disappointing way to end the year for the Blazers, but a team that was not supposed to make it out of the 1st round so, pretty good if you ask me. The Warriors will make their 5th straight NBA Finals appearance, the first team to do that since Bill Russell and the Celtics in 60’s. They are looking for the 3-peat, and 4 titles in 5 years. Last team to 3-peat was Kobe and Shaq on the Lakers from 2000-2002. So the Warriors have some elite company when it comes down to what they are doing.
I hope you enjoyed today’s edition of the NBA Playoffs, please leave a comment on how your team is doing and what I should do in future posts. Enjoy the rest of the NBA Playoffs!
