Playoffs Day 42 And The LA Lakers Are Your 2020 NBA Champs! 10.11.20
Day 42 of the NBA Playoffs and we are in Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Lakers and the Heat.
LA Lakers
The Lakers won Game 6 against the Heat. Here is what I thought about their performance.
Having lost Game 5, and up by 3-2 in the series, the Lakers couldn’t afford to lose Game 6 and let this series go to 7 games. They needed to take care of business, and Lebron and AD needed to dominate in order for them to do so.
And they did just that, as LA dominated from the tip as they won 106-93.
It’s the Lakers 17th championship as a franchise as they win this series 4-2.
Offensively the Lakers were excellent as they shot 48% from the field and 31% from 3. LA was also 9/14 from the free throw line. The Lakers had 12 offensive rebounds. The Lakers had 12 turnovers as well.
Defensively the Lakers were solid as Miami shot 44% from the field and 36% from 3. Miami was also 13/22 from the free throw line. LA forced 13 turnovers.
Lebron James had 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. Anthony Davis had 19 points and 15 rebounds. Rajon Rondo had 19 points. KCP added 17 points. Danny Green had 11 points and 5 rebounds as well.
Conclusion
The Lakers are your 2020 Champs!
It was a long and weird ride to get here, but we were able to get here. The Lakers leaders – Lebron and AD – showed me up (as well as a lot of other people) as they dominated to get this title.
All credit goes to the Lakers, a heck of a team and they definitely deserve this. Lebron deserves this ring and Finals MVP, and this was fun to watch. Lets see what the Lakers can do in the future… dedicating this title to Kobe Bryant.
Miami Heat
The Heat lost Game 6 against the Lakers. Here is what I thought about their performance.
After winning Game 5, the Heat had made it a little bit of a series as they now trailed 3-2. They would need another win to force a Game 7, and they would be getting Goran Dragic back for Game 6. So they still had a chance. But Game 6 was not their day as they struggled, a lot.
Miami got obliterated, losing 106-93.
Offensively the Heat were ok as they shot 44% from the field and 36% from 3. Miami was also 13/22 from the free throw line. Miami had 13 turnovers.
Defensively the Heat were terrible as LA shot 48% from the field and 31% from 3. LA was also 9/14 from the free throw line. Miami allowed 12 offensive rebounds. Miami forced 12 turnovers.
Bam Adebayo had 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jae Crowder had 12 points. Jimmy Butler had 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists. Duncan Robinson added 10 points.
Conclusion
It was an impressive season for the Heat, nothing to be ashamed about. They were never supposed to be here, and they beat some very good teams to get here.
They gave the Lakers some problems, but they couldn’t get it done.
But the Heat have a very bright future, and they will be back… I’m sure of that. This is not the last you will see of this team.
