Playoffs Day 9

Pre Game: It’s the 9th day of action in the 2019 NBA Playoffs and today we have 4 Game 4’s including #4 Boston vs #5 Indiana, #1 Golden State vs #8 Los Angeles, #2 Toronto vs #7 Orlando and #3 Portland vs #6 Oklahoma City. All 4 of these series have been exciting and Boston has the chance to sweep Indiana, Toronto, Portland and Golden State all have the chances to go up 3-1.

Game 1: In the 1st game of the day, #4 Boston plays #5 Indiana. Boston won a close Game 3 and took a 3-0 series lead and now in Game 4, they are looking for the sweep. Boston got off to a great start once again, with 8:25 left in the 1st quarter, they were up 8-0. At the end of the 1st quarter, Indiana led by 2, 23-21. Young, Collision and Bogdanovic all had 5 points. Tatum and Hayward combined for 13 for the Celtics. At halftime, the Pacers led by 2, 49-47. Darren Collison had 11 points, Jayson Tatum had 9 points. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Celtics led by 1, 73-72. Jaylen Brown had 12 points, Bogdanovic had 16 points entering the 4th quarter. The Celtics hung on to win the game, 110-106. Gordon Hayward had 20 points, Tatum and Morris both had 18 points. Bogdanovic had 22 points, 21 for Tyreke Evans. The Celtics are the 1st team to advance to the 2nd round of the NBA Playoffs where they will play #1 Milwaukee.

Game 2: On the 2nd game of the night, #1 Golden State vs #8 Los Angeles. The Warriors asserted their dominance in Game 3, winning 132-105. Kevin Durant had 38 points for the Warriors. The Clippers need to win tonight to stay alive in the series, tying the series at 2-2 as the series goes back to Golden State. At the end of the 1st, the Warriors led by 10, 32-22. Klay Thompson was spitting fire, 17 points in the 1st quarter! Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 14 for the Clippers. At halftime, the Warriors led 62-54. Thompson and Durant combined for 44 points. Alexander had 16 for the Clippers. With 3:57 left in the 3rd quarter, the Clippers led by 5, 82-77. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Warriors led by 3, 87-84. 53 combined for Durant and Thompson. 25 for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Clippers fell apart at the end and the Warriors hung on to win 113-105. Thompson and Durant combined for 65 points, Alexander had 25 points, Gallinari added 16 points. The Warriors now take a 3-1 series lead as the series shifts back to Oakland.

Game 3: In the 3rd game of the night, #2 Toronto plays #7 Orlando. Toronto won a hard fought Game 3 behind Pascal Siakam’s 30 points. Now the Raptors look to take Game 4 and a 3-1 series lead. The Magic are looking for their first win in the series since Game 1, and they are looking to tie the series before it goes back to Toronto. Orlando scored the first 7 points of the game. The Raptors led by 2 at the end of the 1st, 28-26. Kawhi Leonard had 9 points, Nikola Vucevic had 8 points. I was not really paying attention to the game because the series is pretty lackluster. The Raptors were up 11 with 9:47 left in the 4th. The Raptors blew out the Magic, winning by 22, 107-85. Kawhi Leonard had 34, 16 for Siakam and Powell. Aaron Gordon had 25 points, 19 for Evan Fournier. The Raptors dominated in the 4th, outscoring the Magic 25-15. The Raptors now take a 3-1 series lead as the series shifts back to Toronto. Toronto will most likely win in 5 games, and they will play #3 Philadelphia in the 2nd round.

Game 4: In the 4th and final game of the night, #3 Portland plays #6 Oklahoma City. It was a heated Game 3 and the Thunder won the game 120-108. The Thunder shot great from 3 and the free throw line, Paul George struggled, but Westbrook, Schroeder, Grant and Ferguson all played well. If Portland wins Game 4, then they take a 3-1 series lead as the series shifts back to Portland, but if the Thunder take Game 4, then the series will be tied going back to Portland. At the end of the 1st, the Blazers led 26-24. Aminu had 8 for Portland, 8 for Russell Westbrook. The Blazers ended the half on a 11-0 run, and ended up leading 50-46. CJ had 12 points, Aminu had 11 points. Russell had 13 points for the Thunder. The Blazers came out firing out of halftime and took a 12 point lead, 66-54 with 7:31 left in the 3rd. At the end of the 3rd, the Blazers led by 11, 79-68. Lillard had 22 points, Aminu had 17 points. Paul George had 20 points, 13 from Westbrook. With 1:25 left, the Blazers led by 7, 101-94. With 47.7 seconds left, the Blazers led 105-94. The Blazers hung on to win 111-98. CJ had 27 points, Dame added 24. 32 for Paul George, Dennis Schroder had 17 points. The Blazers now take a 3-1 series lead as the series shifts back to Portland. Portland hopes to win Game 5 and end the series instead of letting the series extend to 6 or 7 games.
