The NBA Season Might Actually Return

Recently, I said that the NBA was unlikely to return. But, with a recent turn of events, the NBA season returning is becoming more possible.

Recently, I talked about how the NBA season would likely not return because of the process of the season getting back was taking a very long time. But, with new talks arising, the NBA season might actually return.

Recently, Adam Silver and some of the board of directors held a call. Afterwards, Commissioner Adam Silver said that he felt increasingly positive about the league’s momentum toward the NBA season returning.

Owners and executives on the call were encouraged about the league’s progress toward minimizing health risk upon a return and the league office’s positive conversations with the NBPA about the players also wanting to come back and play the remainder of the season.

I think that the NBA and the players are at a point where they know that their are going to be risks with coming back, but I think that they are willing to come back. The NBA has said if a single player contracts the virus, the league will not go into shutdown, and the team will be able to keep playing.

There will be no fans, obviously, and that will take away from some of the playoff spark away, but I think that the players are eager to come back, even if there are risks, which there will be.

Stephen A. Smith was saying that the NBA should just go straight into the playoffs, with only the teams participating playing. These teams participating in the playoffs might have a 1-2 week training period as preparation. I think that this is smart, as this eliminates 14 teams, and probably 300-500 people with players and all the staff and media as well. This will make it much safer for everybody. The training period is also a good idea, as the teams can get back into a rhythm before the start of the playoffs.

Recently, I thought that the season would not start. This was because of the lack of movement towards the league starting. Now, the league is really moving towards getting the season back. I think that the players are more on board with the season coming back, and I think that the NBA season should resume, even with the health concerns that it arises.

And, with 11 teams known to have re-opened their team facilities, a lot of the players are able to get back into the gym and shake off the rust. In the coming weeks, more teams will be able to return. With all of this information, the NBA and their fans should be optimistic about the possible return to the season.

Please leave a comment on if you think the NBA season will return, and you who you think will win the NBA Finals if the season returns.
