Who Is The Best Player From The 2018 Draft Class?

Recently, I made a list on the best rookies from the 2019 Draft Class. Today, I will be going back to the 2018 NBA Draft Class and picking the 3 best players from that draft class.

Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks

As you might recall, recently I made a list of the best rookies from 2019. Today, I will tell you who are the top 3 players from the 2018 Draft Class.

#3 – Shai-Gilgeous Alexander
Oklahoma City Thunder – 11th Pick

Even though he was the 11th pick, Alexander has become one of the best young guards in the NBA. Alexander is very athletic and loves to go to the rim.

This season, Alexander is averaging 19.3 points and 6.1 rebounds. He is shooting 47% from the field and 35% from 3.

Alexander has taken a big leap since he came to OKC. He has shown that he has the real potential to be a great PG in the NBA, and his future will only get brighter from here.

#2 – Trae Young
Atlanta Hawks – 5th Pick

People were skeptical about Trae Young coming out of college. They questioned whether his preferred offense of shooting deep 3s would translate to the NBA. And boy were they wrong. Trae Young has emerged as a top 5 PG in the NBA, with his scoring and play-making ability.

This season, Young is averaging 29.6 points and 9.3 assists. He is shooting 43.7% from the field and 36% from 3.

Last season, Young was good, but not this good. This season Young has taken a tremendous leap to become one of the best point guards in the NBA. He has Curry like range and he also is a great passer. If he keeps this up, Trae Young will be the next generational point guard in the NBA.

#1 – Luka Doncic
Dallas Mavericks – 3rd Pick

This one was kind of obvious. Last season, Doncic was a very, very good rookie. He had an all-around game, but like Trae Young, he had not taken that extra step yet. Well, this season he has.

This season, Doncic is averaging 28.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 8.7 assists. He is shooting 46% from the field and 32% from 3.

Doncic is the all-around offensive player. He passes and rebounds for his position, and he is a very crafty scorer for his age. His step-back is very deadly and has become known as one of the most lethal moves in the NBA. Doncic really sped up his potential this season. Not only is Doncic in the conversation for Most Improved Player, he is also likely to be in the top-5 of MVP voting.

Many are calling Doncic the next Lebron James, and as of right now, those predictions seem accurate.

Please leave a comment on what you would change about this list, and which player from the 2018 NBA Draft Class will be the best in 5 seasons?
