Who Is The Best Rookie From The 2019 Draft Class?

After the season is unofficially over for some rookies in the NBA, some of them performed great, while others have disappointed. Today, I will be giving my top 3 rookies from the 2019 draft class.

Zion Williamson, New Orleans Pelicans

The 2019 rookies have just unofficially finished their first season in the NBA. Some of them have turned into great players with bright futures. Others have some work to do to live up to their name. Today, I will be giving the Top 3 Rookies From the 2019 Class.

#3 – Kendrick Nunn
Miami Heat – Undrafted (2018)

After going undrafted in 2018 and playing in the G-League all season, Nunn was not well known around the NBA. He signed with the Heat in April of 2019, and Nunn was still not known too much. But now, after this season, Nunn is one of the best rookies in the NBA.

Nunn played 62 games this season, starting them all. He averaged 15.6 points. He shot 45% from the field and 36% from 3.

While these numbers are not eye-popping, Nunn has consistent the whole year. He only missed 3 games in the entire season. Nunn has shown a great scoring ability and has carved out a great role with the Heat this season. He will be a very valuable piece for the Heat for years to come as the Heat look to become a threat in the Eastern Conference.

#2 – Ja Morant
Memphis Grizzlies – 2nd Pick

Going into the season, the Grizzlies were a team that were not taken seriously by the rest of the league. Sure, they had Ja Morant, but they would not be that good. But, Morant and the Grizzlies shocked the league as they are currently the #8 seed in the Western Conference. Ja Morant has been showing his play-making and scoring abilities all throughout the season.

This season, Morant has played in 59 games. He is averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 assists. He is shooting 49% from the field and 37% from 3.

Morant has shown the ability to be a real floor general with his passing ability, and he also been very efficient in his scoring. Morant has been a real leader for that Memphis team, and is on the rise as one of the best point guards in the NBA.

#1 – Zion Williamson
New Orleans Pelicans – 1st Pick

Even though Williamson was injured for most of the season, there is no denying that he has the most talent and the brightest outlook out of anybody in the draft. In the small amount of games that we saw Zion in, we say flashes of a generational talent with a very bright future.

In just 19 games this season, Williamson averaged 23.6 points and 6.8 rebounds. He is shooting 59% from the field and 46% from 3.

Williamson is showing us that his game translates to the NBA. He has shown that he is able to score from all areas of the floor. But, when I was watching Zion Williamson, I saw a lot of raw talent that was waiting to be unlocked. And, in a few seasons, Zion Williamson will likely become a very scary threat in the Western Conference.

I hope you can agree with my list of the best rookies from 2019, please leave a comment on who would be on your top 3 list, and who would be your #1?
