This question is always thrown around, who is the best player in the NBA? Everyone has an opinion, and today I will be giving you mine. I will tell you who I think is the best player in the NBA, and my reasoning why.

OK look, I know, that is not Lebron James. I know, that a lot of you are thinking that it probably be somebody else other than Kawhi. But, hear me out and I will explain to you why I picked Kawhi Leonard as the best player in the NBA.

Offense

On offense, Leonard is a deadly weapon. Leonard is a great shooter from both the 3-point line and the mid-range. Once he gets his shot going, it is tough to stop with his high release. He has incredible strength that makes him a menace down low. Leonard is able to power through his defender and the help defense with his strength.

Leonard is also a master of jabs and hesitation moves. Because of his large hands, Leonard is able to control the ball very well. He uses ball fakes and jab steps to make his defenders uneasy and then he attacks the rim or pulls up for a jump-shot. Leonard keeps it simple on offense, attack the basket, or shoot a jumper.

Leonard has a perfect balance on offense, and he has no weaknesses on this side of the ball. Not many players in the NBA can say this, but Leonard is one of them.

Defense

Leonard has a natural knack for being a great defender. Before Leonard was the two-way threat that he is now, Leonard was a defensive stopper. Leonard has big hands and great timing to swipe the ball away from opponents. He is a great shot blocker for his position, using his long arms to erase shots. Leonard is great at staying with people on the perimeter, and he almost never gets beat. Leonard just has a natural knack for being a defensive pest, and his reputation for being one of the best, if not THE best, perimeter defenders is well known around the league.

To prove his defensive prowess, in his 9 seasons in the NBA, Leonard has had a defensive rating of under 100 a total of 5 times.

Leonard is known as one of the best defensive players in the league, and he has shown that he is a master of locking down his opponent.

Consistency

Leonard has also been one of the most consistent players in the NBA. In the last 5 seasons, Leonard has averaged 20+ points in 4 of them. In that same time span of 5 seasons, Leonard averaged 45%+ from the field in all 5 seasons.

Although Leonard has not been doing it as long as other guys like Kevin Durant or Lebron James, Leonard has been very consistent these last few years. The last 4 times that Leonard has been in the playoffs, he has averaged at least 20 points, 6 rebounds, 48% from the field and 38% from 3.

Leonard is one of the most consistent players in the NBA in the last 4-5 seasons. Leonard has shown dependability, in both the regular season and the playoffs. Almost nobody in the league is as dependable than the Klaw.
